Delete your ScrapMonk account and data

You can ask us to delete your ScrapMonk account and the personal data linked to it at any time. Requests are made by email and are free of charge.

How to request deletion

Send an email to support@scrapmonk.com with the subject "Delete my ScrapMonk account".
In the email, include:
- the mobile number registered with your ScrapMonk account (required: this is how we find your account);
- your name as shown in the app;
- whether you want the whole account deleted, or only some data (for example just your saved addresses or scrap photos).
Verification: to protect your account from someone else's request, we will confirm it by calling or sending an SMS code to the registered mobile number before deleting anything.
We complete the deletion within 30 days of verification and email you to confirm it is done.

Before you request deletion: any upcoming pickups will be cancelled, and unused reward points and cashback will be forfeited. Deletion cannot be undone. You can sign up again later with the same number, but it will be a new, empty account.

What we delete

Your profile: name, phone number, email address and profile picture.
Your sign-in account and any OTP records.
All saved pickup addresses and location coordinates.
Photos and videos of scrap you uploaded with bookings.
Your notifications, reward points, cashback balance and referral code.
Pending or upcoming pickup requests.
For pickup partners: your service areas and partner profile.

What we keep, and for how long

Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep records of completed transactions. For pickups that were completed and paid, we keep the order number, date, city, items, weight, amount paid and payment reference for up to 8 years. Your name, phone number and address are removed from these records, so they no longer identify you. After the retention period they are permanently deleted.

Encrypted backups may hold a copy of deleted data for up to 30 days before they are overwritten. We do not restore or use data from backups after deletion.
